At VR Motorsports, we are starting the first in a series for our Midweek Race Nights on Wednesday, the 16th Sept.
The first event will be at the Virtual Brands Hatch International Raceway.
The race night will consist of 3 classes, an Amateur, Pro Amateur, and a Pro class.
For the amateur class, we have decided on using the Audi TT RS VLN. It handles well, its AWD, and it has a sequential transmission. Being an amateur class vehicle, having one less job to do while driving is always beneficial. It means those wanting to get into the sim racing series can focus on their steering and braking without having the additional pressure of matching their revs and finding the right gate.
Stepping it up a notch in difficulty comes the Pro-Am class. For this class, we have chosen the BMW E30 M3 Group A. These cars can be a little more tail-happy compared to the Audi. They are a six-speed H pattern transmission meaning there is a lot more to contend with, but they also have no Aero like the TT, meaning sending these little cars in sideways can sometimes shave seconds off the lap time. These little gems around brands hatch are a lot of fun.
The pros get the pleasure of driving the Lamborghini Huracan GT3. This car is hands down one of our favorites, and most of our regulars know why; it is merely a pleasure to drive. The sound, downforce, and the power all come together to provide a gratifying experience in our simulators.
The race format for the two amateur classes will be 10min of Practice, Followed by a 10min Qualifying, which will lead directly into a 30min race. The pro class will be much the same; however, the race time will be 1hr instead of 30mins.
The bar will be open for spectators, and things will kick off from 5 pm with an aim to close around 10 pm.
